Oak & Stone Introduces Touchless Tap Key for All Locations

Touchless Self-Serve Beer Wall Technology

First of Its Kind in North America

Sarasota, Fla. – Oak & Stone, a New American tavern known for its craft beer, artisanal pizza and self-serve beer wall together with technology partner, iPourIt, Inc. introduces the Touchless Tap Key, an RFID embedded hard plastic re-usable key that gives the customer total control of the beer wall process while providing a completely touchless, safe, self-serve experience.

A limited amount of new touchless tap keys are available at all locations immediately and more will be available within the coming weeks as Florida’s safe re-opening phases continue. All Oak & Stone locations feature a beer wall that patrons enjoy with up to 50 or more self-serve taps at each location.

The Touchless Tap Key is designed to be reused with an RFID embedded chip that can be sanitized thoroughly after each use. While locations across the country will have access to utilize the technology, Oak & Stone will be the first restaurant group to offer the technology to its patrons for use.

“With more than 280 tap handles at 6 locations throughout Florida, we know our patrons love craft beer,” notes Brett Decklever, co-owner of Oak & Stone. “We want to help ensure their safety without them worrying about enjoying a cold brew. Our investment in this additional technology for the safety and comfort of our patrons is important.”

iPourIt, Inc. has also redeveloped the tap screen interface to include the beer tasting notes on the main screen, so no screen-touching is required to learn about the product. Paired with the Touchless Tap Key, this gives the iPourIt operators a truly touchless self-serve application and provides a safe, non- contaminating process for patrons to pour their own beer and wine lessening their concern of exposure.

“Our technology team has been busy at work developing a comprehensive touchless self-serve solution to help ensure our partners and their patrons could continue to enjoy their beer wall experience, notes Darren Nicholson, Vice President of iPourIt, Inc. “We recognize our operators’ need to provide safe and sanitary options when using the self-serve beer wall. It’s a uniquely simple solution.”

“The beer wall experience is a key element of why people love Oak & Stone,” notes Joe Seidensticker, co-owner of Oak & Stone. “Our iPourIt partners have been busy making sure we can safely keep that experience intact by pivoting and enhancing the technology further.”

Oak & Stone will still offer RFID bracelets available for patrons who choose to use them. The existing RFID bracelets are safe, sanitary and can still be safely utilized at the beer wall, which will be sanitized by Oak & Stone staff after each use and regularly throughout the day.

Oak & Stone safely re-opened all five locations on May 5, following state guidelines for limited capacity and social distancing as well as take-out and delivery, highlighting a limited favorite flavors menu and TO-GO craft beer growlers at all locations, except downtown St. Petersburg. New operating hours for all locations, including Fastfire are Tuesday – Sunday -- Noon – 8 PM (Closed Monday).
